Lettersfrom Iwo Jima (2006) is a masterpiece and also one my favorite films. The drama is convincing, the characters well developed and the acting superior. In combination with Flags of Our Fathers (2006), Eastwood does a brilliant job of offering contrasting and balanced views of the Battle of Iwo Jima from a Japanese and American perspective.
